Ashby C. Moncure, M.D.

Harvard Medical School, Clinical Professor of Surgery Emeritus Massachusetts General Hospital, Honorary Surgeon

Dr. Moncure is a graduate of the University of Virginia School of Medicine in Charlottesville, Virginia. He completed his internship and residency at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston and became board-certified in Cardiothoracic Vascular Surgery. He joined the surgical staff at Massachusetts General and practiced Cardiothoracic Surgery until 2011.

James H. S. Whitney, D. D. S.

Sentara RMH Advanced Cardiac Life Support Instructor

Dr. Whitney is a graduate of the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia and completed his residency training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia. He then entered private practice, became board-certified in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and joined the staff at Sentara RMH. He co-founded the Advanced Cardiac Life Support Program at Sentara RMH and has taught physicians advanced lifesaving techniques for over 24 years.
